GET STEAMED OVER A GOOD BOOK WINTER READING PROGRAM KICKS OFF

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

(Belcamp, Maryland – January 5, 2011) The Harford County Public Library Winter Reading Program saw over 900 teens and adults sign up on the first day of the program which began January 3. Participants who signed up received a commemorative pen displaying this year’s theme, Get Steamed Over a Good Book, which features a fun crab image with red and white bold graphics.

“Everyone loves the theme this year because of how it ties into Maryland,” said Claudia Sumler, Senior Administrator of Public Services for Harford County Public Library. “The Winter Reading Program is a great opportunity to get back into reading after the holidays. We are always excited to host this program to encourage teens and adults to visit the library to see what is new.”

Adults who read or listen to at least five books and teens who read or listen to at least three books will receive a commemorative mug upon completion of the program. The 2011 Winter Reading Program incentives are supported by the Friends of Harford County Public Library and the Harford County Public Library Foundation. All incentives are while supplies last.

The Winter Reading Program runs through March 5. Teens and adults may sign up at any branch and return their completed book logs as early as January 10.

Harford County Public Library operates eleven branches located throughout Harford County, Maryland.
